    184201 - KETTLEBELL/ BODY WEIGHT

    Looking to shed a few unwanted pounds? This class combines cardio and strength training in one quick workout. Performing quick bodyweight cardio sessions in between strength exercises will keep the heart pumping while still encouraging muscle and strength development. PLUS... Improved core strength. The “core” is more than just abs. In fact, at least twenty-nine muscles make up the human core, and many simple bodyweight movements can be used to engage all of them. Such exercises improve core strength for better posture and improved athletic performance. Must know proper technique for the Kettlebell Swing; this will be taught week one. Classes are held at Moore Than Dance studio located at 1220 E. Moore Lake Drive.

    Tae Kwon Do is a Korean Martial Art that uses the hands and feet without weapons. Instructor Seybold’s goal with this program is to share the values and knowledge that he has gained through his training with those in the community who wish to try and grow from their experiences. This class is open to teens and adults of all fitness levels, and will focus on encouraging each student’s physical and mental growth. Wednesday classes will be held at the Fridley Community Center, 6085 7th Street NE in the gym, and Saturday classes will be held at Hayes Elementary School in the gym located at 615 Mississippi St NE).

    Start your day off right with yoga! Join us in the newly remodeled Springbrook Nature Center, 100 - 85th Ave NW, where you can participate in a gentle flow yoga class while looking out the floor to ceiling windows at the serene view of the forests, prairies and wetlands. Instructor Miriam caters this class to all levels beginner to intermediate, so all are welcome regardless of practice or ability. In this program, you will learn yoga poses and how to connect them through attention to breathing, alignment and mindfulness. This is a great way to relieve stress and gain flexibility.
